Why are you Jealous?

A letter for the one whose heart keeps twitching when others rise

Dear becoming one,

Let’s talk about the one we don’t like to talk about.

Jealousy. Not the loud, obvious kind. Not the dramatic envy that wants to pull people down.

I’m talking about the soft jealousy, The one that looks like “motivation” but leaves you feeling less than inside.

The one where you clap for someone, but your heart twitches.

Where you post “Proud of you 👏🏽”

but a voice inside whispers, “Why not me?”

I know it.

I’ve felt it.

And I want to tell you this, with no shame in my voice:

Jealousy is not proof that you’re wicked.

It’s proof that your heart needs healing.

It’s not about the person you're jealous of.

It’s about the version of you that you don’t yet trust.

But I need you to know, Jealousy doesn’t make you a bad person.

It just makes you human.

What matters is what you do when you notice it.

Do you sit in it?

Or do you surrender it?

Because jealousy is a heavy thing to carry on a becoming journey.

It slows your steps. It distorts your mirror. It makes you forget who you are, and whose you are.

So here’s the truth:

You don’t have to compete. You don’t have to envy. What God is doing in others doesn’t cancel what He’s doing in you. And when you start to feel that twist in your chest,

Pause. Don’t scroll. Don’t spiral. Just surrender it.

Say:

“Lord, this ache? I give it to You.

Remind me of who I am in You.”

Because if God called you, then He equipped you, And if He equipped you, then your time will come.

So be free.

Be honest.

And be healed.

Till I write again,

Your friend in the becoming lane.
