“I said Yes to God. Now What?”
A Letter to one who’s surrendered and now feels lost in the silence
Dear Becoming One,
So you said yes to Jesus. You surrendered. You meant it.
Now what?
It's time to become who God has designed you to be.
But let me also tell you, as a friend and as one who's becoming too: Don't walk this journey alone.
After saying yes to Jesus, you need three things:
Join a church where the Word is taught with depth and truth.
Not a place to perform. A place to be formed. Find a community where doctrine matters, where truth is taught carefully, where the Gospel isn't diluted for comfort. Your foundation depends on it.
Submit to a pastor who disciples with love and conviction.
This sounds old-fashioned in a culture that wants to do faith solo. But submission to spiritual leadership isn't weakness, it's wisdom. Find a shepherd who will speak truth into your life, even when it's uncomfortable. Your growth needs oversight.
Take the believers' class or foundation Bible class. Yes, even if you've done it before. Even if you think you already know the basics. Do it again.
I know that sounds repetitive. It's not. Because you're not the same person you were before you said yes. Your season has shifted. Your needs have deepened. And what you learn now will anchor your becoming in ways surface-level knowledge never could.
Why? Because your destiny is on the line. Don't treat this becoming season like it's casual. It's divine. And your growth must have roots, deep roots that can hold you steady when the storms come.
Then, when you've submitted and been equipped, start serving. Serve in God's house, and watch Him serve you and yours in return. The more you pour, the more He fills. The more you yield, the more He moves.
This isn't transactional. It's relational. Serving in His house isn't about earning favor, it's about positioning yourself where He can use you, shape you, and move through you.
So yes, the journey after "yes" isn't always glamorous. There are no spotlights in the foundation-building season. There's no applause in the process of deepening. But it is glorious. Because what God builds after surrender lasts forever.
The visibility might come later. The platform might come later. But the roots you're building now? They're eternal.
Till i write again,
Oluwatosin 🌹
