Dear God, Help me

A letter to a becoming one needing encouragement

Oluwatosin AdebiyiQuantity Surveyor · Writer

Dear God,

I know You see me.

I know You hear me.

I know that as I come to You, Your hands are open wide to receive me.

This season is stretching me, Lord.

I feel pulled.

I feel as though I am shedding.

I feel as though my skin is being peeled away.

And while I understand that this is a pruning season, Lord, it is hard.

It is hard to keep holding on.

Honestly, it is.

But I will not lose hope until I see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

I know You have created this life for me to enjoy—and to enjoy it abundantly. (John 10:10)

I know Your plans towards me are good and not evil; plans to give me a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Thank You, because while I know You are waiting for me at the end of this tunnel, You are also right beside me as I walk through it.

For even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me. Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4)

Thank You, because even if my father and mother forsake me, You will take me in. (Psalm 27:10)

Thank You for Your unfailing and undying love towards me.

I will wait on You, Lord.

I will be of good courage.

I will keep walking with You.

I will keep pressing in.

I will keep keeping pace with You, Lord.

Because I know that You are my strength.

Thank You for Your hand resting heavily upon me.

Thank You for keeping me.

Thank You for holding me.

Thank You for being with me—even here.

I love You, Lord.

Dear Becoming One,

God’s got you.

Keep walking.

Keep trusting.

Keep becoming.

Till I write again,

Your fellow becoming one,
